North Korea has officially confirmed that it has send troops to support Russian forces in the war against the Kiev regime and their NATO-backed proxy fighters in Ukraine.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un ordered his country’s military to fight alongside Russian forces, as what he describes “to annihilate Ukrainian neo-Nazi occupiers and liberate the Kursk region”, Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Monday.
North Korean officials declared that the operations for “liberating the Kursk area to repel the adventurous invasion of the Russian Federation by the Ukrainian authorities were victoriously concluded”, KCAN reported.
The number of North Korean troops and the extent of their involvement in the Ukraine war, have not yet been disclosed. However, different sources suggest that personnel may be assisting in both combat operations and logistical support. Some sources claim that North Korea has sent as many as 10,000 soldiers to the war.
Russia and North Korea have previously entered into a partnership to militarily protect each other’s countries against possible military aggressions. Some sources also claim that North Korea, which has not had any major military conflicts for decades, needs to prepare its military and soldiers for future wars by gaining knowledge and experience.
The Russian Defense Ministry released this footage earlier today of combat training of North Korean soldiers who participated in the fightings in the Kursk region of Russia, that were earlier occupied by Ukrainian forces and their foreign collaborators among mercenaries.
